Decided to start giving our 4 1/2 month old son a bit of pureed food the other day, so we made him pureed potato and pureed sweet potato, he pulled funny faces to each of them at first, but this afternoon when i gave him sweet potato he was like a baby possessed arms in the air mouth wide open dieing for the next spoon full. it made us laugh so much but made us feel so good, just wanted to share it with you.

How cute! My daughter just turned 6 months and we have been trying foods with her for the last month. She also LOVES sweet potatoes and bananas! Squash and peas are good too, but she hates peaches and prunes because they are too tart.

Just wait until he starts trying to grab the spoon because you're not shoveling it in fast enough for him!

Keep that camera handy, you will get many different happy and funny faces when trying new foods, not to mention a face and head covered with goo.

They are so sweet at that age. The world starts to open up for them. My twins loved the sweet potatos too. A couple weeks ago we went out to eat and they went wild over the LEMON in my tea! They begged for more instead of turning it away. The faces were hilarious too!

Aren't you lucky. When i first tried feeding my daughter with a spoon she screamed her little head off. And as soon as the spoon got too close to her mouth she closed it and would not open it till the spoon was gone. strangely she liked to play with the spoon and even put ti in her mouth herself.
Now at 6 month she eats anything that she can get in her mouth. Sadly even the chocolate chip cookie my father in law gave her.

Yes - it's great to hear stories like that! My youngest loved his food and from 5 months he would anticipate every meal and he'd hmmm hmmm away as loud as could be, his legs would bounce and he'd hold his arms out to the sides and twist his clenched hands around and around as fast as he could. Alway amused us! Enjoy these moments - it's a great experience watching then develop and it's great memories to look back on. x

I had to edit this as I put no at the start which wasn't right at all!!! Sorry!!

He is discerning-give me sweet potato every time! The other ones are only OK with salt and butter. Hope he enjoys a lifetime of healthy eating.

Aww thats so cute!

My son is 10 weeks old and I intend to breastfeed him until he's 6 months but we'll have to see how he goes. I can't wait to try him on solids!

You should have taken some photos to post online!
