'Red Dragon' introduces the reader to Hannibal Lector. He is a very minor character in the book. Then you read 'Silence of the Lambs'. Hannibal is still a minor character, but you get more details about him. Them come 'Hannibal' and 'Hannibal Rising'. I thought 'Hannibal Rising' was a good book, but thought he could have given more details. 'Red Dragon' and 'Silence of the Lambs' are way superior to 'Hannibal' and 'Hannibal Rising'.

The Red Dragon was the first one written with the Hannibal Lecter character, followed by Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal Rising is the most recent. I think the first two are good reads if you like the crime, psychological thriller genre. The recent one is trite and seemed to me to just be an attempt by the author to just put out trash, expecting people to buy/read it who were looking for writing as good as found in the first two...my opinion.

The story starts with "Hannibal Rising" then "Red Dragon", "Silence of the Lambs, and ending with "Hannibal".

Unless you want to go out of order start from "Hannibal Rising" it explains a lot as to why he is the way he is, but actually it was more about revenge killing rather than the beginning of a serial killer.

via fact you could sympathize with him. youthful Hannibal killing his sufferers isn't appropriate, yet you could comprehend why. He supplies appropriate understanding to how and why Anthony Hopkins as a senior Hannibal does what he does. i found Hannibal growing to be to be relaxing for no different reason than I regarded at Hannibal via fact the hero in this action picture, vice Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal to be a questionable and feared killer.

I'm not sure of the order of the books really, you can read the people it was based off in real life at this website: www.crimelibrary.com

I have not read the books either, so you might want to take someone else advice on which one to start with or just start with the one you think is most interesting then read the rest at a later time
