Lots of bloody killings. Lots of gore. Lots of sex scenes. A porno movie playing in the cinema. I think the one scene that offended the censors most was the bit where he has a dream that Nazi Aliens burst into his home and kill his mom and dad.

It'd be the equivilant to an 18. But sometimes the ratings aren't the same in one country to another. So what is an R in America may only be a 15 in the UK. The same thing happens between the UK and Ireland all the time - films are rated by different organisations in different countries and their decisions aren't always the same.... Never seen awake so I can't comment on if it's good or not. I think most of the CSI box sets are rated 15. I live in Ireland

All that chomping of bodies by the big bad were-wolf.
Why I hate horror movies; NO ONE fights back.
Remember when the man was in the subway? Wolf coming, man has umbrella and attache case. He runs and THROWS AWAY the umbrella and attache case. Then he falls down and waits for the set of chompers to start biting down on him. Pleeeassee. The umbrella could have been a sword or spear and the attache case could be a club. AT LEAST fight back!!
But noooo.

It rated that because for little kids to see it would scare them all horror movies are rated R

I watched it, definitely R rating because there is nudity and violence. Of course in horror lots of scenes of blood flowing is expected

The "R" rating is mainly for graphic violence & gore & some nudity.
