I'm moving to vancouver in a few months and don't feel I will have too much of a problem finding a place in my price range under $1200, But I feel I will have trouble finding the right place in this price range. I'm a musician and therefore I need a house or something detached, or need to know, if I live in an apartment, is there Jam spaces that are affordable to rent? I'm definately not opposed to the subburbs, but would prefer somewhere in closer than maple ridge. Has anyone ever had this same problem before?? Thanks for any help!
p.s. - I have a drum kit... :S

Good luck with that. $1200 doesn't get you much, even in the 'burbs. Maple Ridge might be your best bet. Check Craig's List if you haven't done so already. MR does have some beautiful places/views. CL might also have some leads on jam space. as well as the Georgia Straight. The Straight is the newsmag that you have to read religiously if you're in the arts of any kind. It's also just a great paper.

There are a few places that you can jam at. Off the top of my head I know that there is a place in North Vancouver called NAL that is set up to jam in and is fairly cheap. I think there is one in New Westminster as well.

I would think that you'd be better downtown or west end or kitsilano or gas town or yaletown...all fairly upscale but close to everything and all the major entertainment venues.----but these areas I'm certain are gonna be apartment only....for houses you could try new westminster, north vancouver...
