There are many factors that can come into play. such as country of origin, the type of visa he is here on, and so forth.

if he is on a tourist visa he had to sign an agreement that he would not be getting married during his stay. for him to do so is illegal.

However, if you find a good immigration attorney, they will be able to guide you through the process. DO NOT GET MARRIED until you consult the attorney, or you could both be held accountable for illegal matters

Be prepared to spend about $2000 to complete the whole process.

and of course Best wishes in you venture!

First I'm going to ask...how LONG have you known this guy? Do you know his family? Have you actually MET his family and the friends he has where he is originally from? Do you know ANY of his past history? What schools did he attend as a child. WHY did he come here ans WHY does he want to stay? How many people does he know here? How many women has he dated here and has he asked ANY of them to marry him in the past? What is so horrible about where he is from that he would desert his friends and family all for YOU?
The next thing you need to do is check the immigration laws. If it is found that he is marrying you just to stay in the country YOU could find YOURSELF in a federal prison. Next question, is he WORTH going to prison for?

I think he needs a legal passport or something or a visa or something like that but i am not sure and if he marries you he may be able to be in the states. Call your local courthouse and see what they have to say about this. You need to find out the law here and what happens if you marry him. I just hope he is not using you to get his way to the states. Just be careful and be wise.

no
you can legally marry
he need not be an american citizen
and the marriage will be valid
but marrige does not automatically grant temporary stay
he'll have to go back to his country if his visa expires
and you will have to sponsor him in under a K-1 Spousal / Fiance visa
you basically will vouch for his character
both of you will be seprately interviewed
you will sing on the dotted line as if there is fraud or he goes on welfare
you're the one going to pay for it
he'll just get denied and deported

Yes, that is one of the fastest ways to gain citizenship. Be careful, because this could be an agenda for him. Meaning he may be marrying you for the wrong reasons (It is quite common). It will take 6 months for him to get citizenship if you get married, versus 6 years.

Yes, once you marry him, he will be aloud to stay in America. He will also be aloud to do all the things Americans can do, like work, vote, ect. Congrats and Happy Valentines Day!!
