What laptop is right for me? I like mac's better, but I don't want to spend too much... Something with a fast processor, like core duo. I looked into Toshiba's and Macbook's. I want something with good entertainment features. It doesn't have to be a high performance gaming laptop, but i would like a graphics card to support WoW well enough.

If you buy a 2007 mac is like buying a pc there fore only the price and taste will be an issue.Since both run windows xp or vista.

I personally recommend a Toshiba laptop. I own 2, and have never had a problem with them. Never buy a "cutting-edge" machine. Not only is the price not worth it, but it will soon be replaced by something better. Go with something second-best for a lot cheaper, or wait until the top-of-the-line model you want is replaced by something better and comes down in price...probably very shortly.

I think Sony makes a great laptop, and they are available in white which looks pristene. You can get a dual-core duo for about $800. Has a lot of features for the money.

If you're looking at specs, try to get a harddrive that's 5400 or 7200 rpm. Mfr like to use a slow drive to save money, but it really affects your performance.

Check out http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-7602_7-1016082-1.html?tag=dir , since this is a broad question which most owners of one laptop cannot answer effectively. There you could use the Laptop buying Guide and also search for specific laptops you're considering and see what others who own the products are saying.
