Its perfectly normal for you to feel that way! When your periods start, your hormones change -- the least little thing can make you upset or angry. On the day that I started my first period, I went out onto my porch and started breaking up rocks with a hammer because I was so angry! The bleeding, the cramps, the mood swings -- I felt like my body was turning on me! Luckily though, it gets a little easier to deal with every time.

I think everyone is worried about leaking and being embarrassed in front of everyone at first. The most important thing for you to do is to make sure that your pad or tampon is positioned properly -- either inside you or your panties -- and check it after every class. Make sure you have plenty of extras in your backpack and if you start to feel uneasy about bleeding through, just change it. After a few months, you'll be able to judge your flow a little better and you'll know when you need to change.

Ready for it or not, its here! I know it feels like a big responsibility and inconvenience, but its a part of every woman's life. You'll be dealing with it like a pro in no time.

I felt the same way when I got my period. I was 12 and got it on the first day of 7th grade. It was awful. Gym was the worst.

You'll probably want to start out using pads, but tampons are really more convenient. Once you learn how to put them in (which is quite simple, just follow the instructions included with the box) and take them out, it will make your life a lot easier. You can't feel tampons and they don't leak as long as you use the right absorbency. Plus, you can leave them in for up to 8 hours, so you probably won't have to worry about changing it at school.

the first time i had it i was crying too! haha, it gets better. It starts to become a normal part of your life just a pain in the ***. But just tell your mother, or whoever takes care of you about it and she should buy you some pads or tapons, with those you dont need to worry AT ALL about leaking. If you have gym tomorrow and your not comfertable yet with wearing the pads or tampons, then skip it for that day and wait a couple of days untill you feel more comfertable. I prefor pads better than tampons in the beginning, just make sure to change them throughout the day. haha im 14 also but i had it when i was in 5th grade! dude its beyond normal dont worry about it, its just weird in the beginning but it gets better and its everyone 28 days. Just be ready for it because you dont want any leaks in school always bring a sweatshirt to school or something just incase! other than that thats all you need to know anything else go to whoever takes care of you and let them now, if you havent already

hope this helps

Totally normal. I cried too, but I think I may have even gone hysterical because I was just 10 years old!! Most girls are horrified when they first get their period, but over time you just get used to it. Make sure you change pads or tampons regularly... about every 2-4 hours when using pads and no more than 4-5 on tampons. You shouldn't have to worry about any odor or leakage that way. If you experience cramps... try getting a note to excuse you from gym class for a couple of days!

This is very normal. Do you have a female relative you can talk too? There are a lot of ways to prevent leaking. Do not use a tampon. You are too young. They may very absorbant pads for heavy days. Be sure to take several to school with you. You can take tylenol or advil for the cramps. Drink plenty of fluids. Tell your Gym teacher if you feel comfortable doing this. Perhaps you can sit out the first few days of your flow. This process is never fun, but you do get better at it! Please talk to someone you trust. A school nurse or teacher or adult female relative. Everything will be ok. All women go through this every month.

It should lighten up after 2 days. It is normal after 15 years of having mine, I still hate it. but it's a woman thing. You will find a lot of people hate it, but the reason we need to have it is a blessing. You could use tampons for the leaking most of the time, but change them often. Good Luck and try Mymonthlycycles.com to track them so you could pretty much tell when the next one is an be ready

it is perfectly normal.. i got mine when i was 13 and at first that is the way i felt so i hid it from my mom.. but then later i realize that it is not bad.. you are now a woman.... there is nothing you can do to stop having your period.. if you are worried about gym you can let your teach know that you have cramps or feel sick and she can excuse you from it.. now as far as leaking.. whenever you go to the bathroom to pee just change your pad each time and you will be fine. if you start to think it smells you can get a spray call summers eve and you can spray down there or on pad and you will smell like flowers all day. you can also have your close friend check to make sure your not leaking.. most girls wear a black long sweat shirt to go past there butt if they are hella worried about it. or tie it around there waist.. you will be fine..

Sweetie, First off Welcome to the the wonderful cycle of life! Womanhood. Wow I remember my first time ...I felt like I couldn't play basketball with my guy friends anymore. But after I realized it wasn't the end of the world, I learned that I would just keep extra change of clothes with me at school and enlist friends in every class to inform me of any emergencies...always have more then you need when it come to pads on hand...and just remember ALL of us have had the very same fears as you and its OK to be scared or resistant to growing up...Starting your period is a Huge step in becoming a mature teenager and in time you will figure out your own routine and it won't be as much of a worry. Oh! and don't forget your friends they have or are all going through the very same thing. Take care and Bless you. Welcome to the other side! Keep your head up.

It is normal for young women to feel this way. The best way to deal with it is to gain knowledge and control. Do some product investigation at the drug store. Read the labels. Be prepared. Research a little on menstruation. Remember that your hormones are fluctuating during this time, and this may make you feel more vulnerable.
The more you know, the better you will handle it.

It's normal. I don't want mine either, but it keeps coming every month. Don't worry about the crying, that will probably come with the blood. It's just hormone overload. You can wear tampons along with a slim pad to help prevent leaks. Make sure you change them every couple of hours. That ought to take care of it.
