I have a belkin f5d7010 and a dell inspirion 8000 laptop the card will connect to the router i am pinging off of but when i hit my explorer icon it will not connect. i get a DNS error.; Also on my belkin main screen there is a red spot to the router pic then to the next after that. I do not have any internet provider loaded is this why. I was told i did not need to have an isp on there. please can someone help

try connecting directly to your router and checking your connection settings.

It's probably gonna be something like http://192.168.2.1/

Just type that in internet explorer and see if you can access your routers settings. Make sure it has connection to the internet and you might want to restart it. Check to see if your computer is listed as a client. Check the security protocol... Try to remove all security and any obsticles to get connection... then one by one add things back to find out what's causing your the problem.

Do you have a desktop that is connected to the internet? You will need to have an ISP unless you are just connecting to a local network and not the internet.

An ISP brings the inter net to you. with out an Inter Net Provider, you won't get much
