I believe what you're looking for is a USB Printer cable. The larger cable is likely what's called a parallel cable. I think you can use either to print. Good Luck!

One cord should be the power cord and the other should be to connect to the computer. If you are trying to print something off the computer then yes you need both. Source is a link to where you can get parts for that printer.

Hi--that model connects to your computer via a USB cable. That (along with the power cable, of course) should be all you need to get up and running. That unit also has a slot for a photo card, so you can print pictures without transferring them to your PC first; that's probably the other port you're seeing at the bottom left.

One would be the USB cord (faster data transfer rate). USB cords aren't typically included with peripherals such as printers. The other connection is a Parallel cord. These transfer data at a much slower rate. Go with the USB if possible. I just bought a USB cord at the dollar store.

The other is the optional paralell cable adapter connection- if its installed, it will be a regular printer cable connection- it will stick out from the printer, not be inside under the cover, or sunk about 2" or so in it. If its sunk, you need the adapter...

Its most commonly know as a paralell printer cable. The techie name for that connector is a centronics connector. The cable might also be referred to as a IEEE -1284 (I think)
