If Kerry became president and everyone under 30 had to serve for 2 years (military, teaching, at hospital, etc, etc) and someone refused what would happen to him/her? Jail? Kerry had this idea of 2 years of service on his platform back in 04..
I hope not jail because that is what the old USSR did to people who "refuse to participate in social duty".

It is a fact of life that some are unsuitable. We don't need that sort of 'draft'.
The US offers many employment opportunities already in public service, and all are voluntary.

yes there is punishment for not showing up to serve without good reason. not just a russian plan either.

Why should only poor and underprivileged young man and women go AND FIGHT FOR THE COUNTRY?
