There are 2 kinds of USB "jump" drives: Flash Memory and Hard Disk. The latter is basically a miniature hard drive that must be handled with care as it can be easily crashed by rough handling. These hold the most data, however, and I believe the largest ones hold about 8GB, but will soon hold over 10GB. Walmart sells an 8GB model for just under $100. Flash jump drives are 100% solid-state (NO moving parts), and are both smaller and more resilent to knocking around. Ematic Co. makes a 4GB model for about 50 bucks, but I've heard there is an 8GB model on the way for around $85. Capacities have risen and prices have fallen for both kinds dramatically over the past couple years.

HI
Well so far the last ive seen was 3gb , but that was in HK when i was there a month ago . Remember is NOT how much mem you can put or get into a jump drive, jump drives have a specific size , like 236 , 512 or 1gb , so , its up to you to decide WHAT to put or what you want to save INSIDE the USB JUMP DRIVE

From your wording, small format are 2gig (everywhere) and now 4gig at newer places... larger are coming, but pricey and hard to find...
If you go bigger format- small boxes, but not 2.5" drive sized, they start at 4gig...
2.5" hard drive sized are whatever laptop drive you put into it- 100g is available easy... bigger if you wanna spend the $$
