My wife had the same problem with our old washing machine. For some reason I didn't. Never did figure that out. When we moved we got a front load washer which actually has bigger capacity and it never bounces or rocks. Even for my wife.
The advice about even placement of the load and smaller loads is good, this seemed to help some with the old washing machine.
Good luck with this one. Ours one time locked us out to the laundry it moved itself in front of the door.

I had the same problem and my husband swore it was level...

I started not filling it so full with clothes and it worked... less clothes allow the laundry to move more freely in the water and not become off balance.

Make sure that the load is balanced and that you have enough water in the machine. I was told this by an appliance repair person.

level out the load in the drum, so too much isn't clumped up in the same area, thus causing imbalance.

Be Blessed!
