For Metallica fans, which of their instrumental songs off their earlier albums is your favorite? I prefer "The Call of Ktulu" off of Ride the Lightning.

It's so good it raises the hair on my back!
(as do most of other Metallica songs)

Boy some people dont read a question right. The man is asking about instrumental songs and people are saying Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets. I agree with you Call of Ktulu is the best one. I like all the different tempo changes and how all the instruments seem to go off and do there own thing at one point. Great tune.

Instrunmentals? Noboy's putting that many instrunmentals. I think I'd go with Call of Ktulu and Orion (that IS how you spell Ktulu on the album). Cliff Burton is the best bassist ever and Rob will definetely make a good replacement.

I love The Call of Ktulu and Orion(both instrumental) but i think i prefer The Call of Ktulu.ANYTHING by metallica is just awesome depends on the mood...old school metallica is just so heavy and energetic and the new (since load) have great lyrics and some relaxing songs+heavy metal riffs...Metallica is all good and i appreciate their work...and they also kick *** live...long live the four horsemen

And enter sandman is what I like better

To me, "Orion" is their best instrumental. There's a bit of everything in that song-including a rare solo played by James Hetfield.
