Just bought a new car. The dealer said I could buy a module that uses an electic signal to keep the rust off. Cost about $300. Worth it?

Browse the internet. It is a PROVEN FACT that electronic rust control is not as affective as a yearly oil spray. It surely would be better than nothing, and i'm not going to say it doesn't work, but myself, I spring every year for the good oil spray. What I mean by good is, when you go to get the oil spray done, make sure you make it clear that you want the dripless spray. If you pay anything less than about $125, then you are getting the cheap spray that will be gone after a few under-car washings. The good oil spray, to touch it, would feel almost "gluey" on your skin.
Also don't let anyone talk you into undercoating your car. Undercoating is a rubber like protectant that actually holds the moisture between the coating and the vehicle, ultimately leading to major rot over several years.

It's impossible to put enough charge through a car to effectively stop rust, total scam and waste of money. The yearly oil type sprays are best, they creep into the crevices and protect not only the body but also the wire connection and fuel lines.
