If you are sharing an internet connection through a wireless network, it is easy. If the printer is connected to your desktop, go to Control Panel/printers & faxes, and right-click on your printer. Select properties, click the sharing tab and set the printer to allow sharing.

On your laptop, also go to control panel, printers and faxes and select add a printer and follow the prompts to install the printer on your laptop. The other computer needs to be on to use the printer with your laptop.

The "easiest" is to create a home network- your computers with network cards, two cables and a hub. Run the network setup wizard after hooking the cables to the computer and hub, and let ti set up simple network for you. Then select to share the printer from the one that its hooked to. On the "extra" one, without the printer, add a printer, but choose network printer, and let if find the shared one...

Hi

Ok , Yes , you can , now to do this , first install the printer in the pc and test it , once you are sure it works , then right click on it and select share printer , once you have share the printer a little hand will appear on it . Now , select start and open run then type , cmd , once the dos box opens type , ipconfig /all and hit enter, once you do copy down the number you see where it says ip address , now go to the laptop , now open start then run and type \\ip addres of pc here , so it will be something like this

pc=192.168.1.2

so in the laptop you write \\192/168.1.2 , now once you connect to the pc then youll be able to see the printer , now to print you need to install the printer on your laptop , now just double click on it and it will ask you to install the driver so go ahead , that way it will copy the drivers that are in the pc to the laptop :)

Yes. Just hook up the laptop and install the printer drivers. You can do either parallel or USB printer cables, depending on the printer. I do it all the time, and have several printer drivers installed for different printers. Just select which printer in the PRINTERS folder under SETTINGS if the printer you want to use is not the default.

If you want it wired, buy a dongle, this is a switch box that sits between the printer and the main computer, and has two leads, plug the spare lead into your laptop, flick the switch, and you are connected to the printer.
You can also get a wireless router to plug into the printer, and run both computers to the printer wireless.

if you want, a software program called Network Magic will do it all for you without you having to mess with all the settings.
