There is a blue color in the sink where the dain is. I think it is a chemical in the water but I am not sure. Can someone please give me an answer to this question. If you don't know then please don't put anything. Thank you.

If the color is more aquamarine, it's lime from the lime in the water. Baking soda will get it off, and if it's especially tough, first put vinegar on the stain...the baking soda will react with the vinegar and make your job very easy indeed.

most likely copper oxide...as the copper in the brass, near the drain hole, mixes chemically with the oxygen in both the atmosphere and the water. additionally, water contains ' free oxygen' which is oxygen dissolved in the water that is not chemically bound to the H2O molecues of water. this ' free oxygen,' is the likely source of the oxygen that bonds to the copper in the brass drain in your sink...resulting in copper oxide. actually, most copper compounds appear ' greenish ' so look a little closer and tell me it ain't green to some degree.

The blue color is a reaction between chlorine in the wate and the copper pipes.
