Was it incredibly scary, like enough to give you nightmares?? or was it just a little creepy??? Bottom line: Was it a good movie overall? Because my friends want me to see it tomorrow so i wannna know if its REALLY scary cuz i don't really like horror movies, thanks!!

It will make you jump in a few parts. It depends how easy you get scared. I don't get any nightmares about it though. It was a really good movie. 10 out of 10.

It wasn't good at all. I just saw it last night. It was VERY predictable. Anytime it got eerily quiet there would be a "scary" part (where they try to make you jump). Really, no different than any other ghost movie. The entire plot and everything leading up to climax was pretty weak.
But it was PG-13, so couldn't really expect much.

It's not that scarey.
I just saw THE GATHERING with Christina Ricci and was pleasantly surprised that it was interesting, suspenseful but not the kind of thing to give anyone nightmares. It was better than I thought it would be. I hadn't heard of it before and dreaded another of those "straight to DVD" horror films that just cash in on my insatiable desire to be frightened. I was happy with the story, it had me wondering and the creepy old church was interesting. Plus it involved the Catholic Church hiding a secret kind of like in DA VINCI CODE.
You should check it out, it's out on DVD.

It's not scary at all. It's not put together well and really unsuspenseful. There is one part where the girl is holding her little brother and one of the "messengers" is coming up behind them in the hall. If you get to that and then through it, you're set.
