The pinkie will die without it's mother. You can't feed them & they won't survive without the heat of their litter mates & mother. Put it in a baggie & then in the freezer. It sounds cruel, but it's the most painless method of killing the mouse and you can try to feed the snake later with the thawed mouse.

As your snake has never eaten for you step one is to make sure your snake really is comfortable in the cage setup you are providing. Is your cage an acceptable Tempurature? is there a hide box? What are you using for ground cover? Is he drinking water?
If everything is acceptable here are two tricks you can try.
1) place the snake and the mouse in a paper bag closed up together.this is suppose to be like catching a mouse in a cave.
2) cut the head open on the pinkie (its going to die anyway) there is suppose to be an odour from the brain that attracts the snake
I have also cut pinkies in half to make it an easier meal
hope all this helps

Either feed it and adopt it as your own...

Or freeze it, It's the most humane way to kill it, When the snake gets bigger try feeding it the mouse de-frosted (in warm water) If it still wont take maybe your snake doesn't like mice, then you can buy pheromones to put on the mouse so the snake will like it, If your snake doesn't like mice you will need to get the pheromones or it wont eat.

Well for one, pinkies would more than likely be too small. The mouse needs to be as big as the snakes girth. And you could put it in the freezer if you want to try again sometime. When you need to thaw it just put it in hot water (not boiling) for a while to completely thaw it out then try again.

Are you sure that the mouse isn't too big for the snake? It probably isn't but just thought I would ask. I bet a little gerbil food that you can get at the pet store would keep it alive. Or, talk to the store and see if they will take it back and try another later.

Good Luck

Just because the person said the snake had just eaten, doesn't mean it did...a rule of thumb is to ask to be there when they feed it, watch it eat, then take it home...also you can contact your local zoo for really great advice.

you can take it back to the pet store and they may be able to get a momma mouse to take it in. otherwise you can try and feed the little guy some kitten formula with an eye dropper. keep it warm with a cloth wrapped around it and rubbing the poor little guy.

Not much you can do. Flush it and put it out of it's misery, or leave it with the snake until it's eaten or it dies.
