My older brother nicknamed me Weezie-from Louise Jefferson ( also called Weezie, by George) on The Jeffersons, when I was little because I hated my middle name-Louise. As an adult I have no idea why I hated that name so very much. The name was passed down for generations. I now appreciate my real name-Louise, but I enjoy the memory of my brother calling me this. I would probably feel differently if I had a negative memory of an ex 's name for me. Don't dwell on what he called you cause you have better things to do than worry over anything in your past w/ him, right?

I think it depends on what he's used to. It's kind of nice having a nickname because it's someone close to you and they're using it in reference to you or something you have done. My ex called me MissyBoo. My name is Tiffany, so it's not part of my name at all. He told me his grandparents always came up with things like that. His grandparents called the grandkids "pooperskites" and his grandma made a stew called "slop-ala-ca-poo" (I'm not sure how they actually spelled these). But I know MissyBoo is similar to those names. It's just something he grew accustomed to and I loved it when he called me it, even if it was silly. After awhile he never called me that because of various reasons that led to the break up. He realized he wasn't into pet names, etc. lol Anyway. I hope that helps a little bit.
I've also been called "shortie", "Tiffy", "Girlie Girl", etc. All because they are in reference of who I am.
I don't think he used "slick" as a bad term at all. It sounds like a "cool" name to me actually. Like "smooth move".

it's hard to figure out what people are saying and why. Could be they have a nickname and so should you. Or could be they think a new name is cute, or describes a situation, or could be something double meaning and just between you and them but also mean something mean and keep other people away from you. A "slur" usually refers to race and this does not appear to be a racial comment. If you don't like something, the very first time it's done to you you need to comment and say to them "I don't like that" and if they continue using it they are not your friend.

I have a few friends that call me by my first initial, W, probably because they like me. I've had similar experiences with negative nicknames.

In general, I think it's how strongly a person feels about another, whether positive or negative, that determines why they give you nicknames.
