You can house it in a ten galon tank probably for a month or two but it will probably need a bigger one probably around a twenty or 30 gallon after that than you will need another tank once it outgrows that one.

Depends on the size, I kept mine in a little plastic shoebox for a week until I bought a 10 gallon tank, and she's now about 6 or 7 months old and a little over 2 feet long (she's a monster, she never refuses a meal). So just get a 10 gallon tank, it should be good in there for a while and once it gets bigger (maybe like a year old) get a 20 gallon. Though if yours grows as fast as mine is growing (she was about a foot long when i got her 3 months ago, now she's 2... that's crazy) you might need a 20 gallon a little sooner.

Corn snakes are relatively small, and as such, they do not require large enclosures. A baby corn snake can happily live in a ten gallon aquarium or enclosure of similar size. Some people choose to keep baby corn snakes in plastic shoeboxes with holes punched in the side. This type of enclosure is acceptable as long as appropriate heating is provided. Upon reaching full adult size (about three to four years), a corn snake will require an enclosure with the minimum dimensions of a standard twenty gallon long aquarium.

the biggest tank you will need for your corn snake is a 20gal. they arnt that much money and your better off instead of buying a bunch of different sizes.

I let mine free into any room, this way they will have more space and adjust to their surroundings better.
