Ok, so here goes, basically there are a few prominant ways that we describe their feelings towards existence.
So this being said, Are you the kind of person that says, "This is my situation I am going to adapt and get stronger, and deal with the circumstances I am dealt, and I accept this reality"? OR are you the kind of person who says "thats not good enough, I dont accept that i could make it better and i create oppurtunities i dont deal with circumstances"? OR somewhere in between, i think most people fall in between, or are actually both and use both of these mind-sets on different levels for different situations.

I would love to be the second one, but in all the hard times I've been dealt, I've been completely stripped of control, had no options, had no opportunity to create opportunities or change things for myself. Other selfish people have had the audacity to remove my choices, and I've had no choice but to adapt and become stronger. It's not nice to have no say in my own life, but it's get over it or go under!

The original Socrates that Plato wrote about should have never rationalized his way into meekly drinking the hemlock without trying to escape. It was a cop out by an old tired man who simply gave up and let a weasel cause his death. I am of the mind set that ethics require life, if you are dead all arguments meaningless. Soc should have not accepted an unjust death sentence, the laws & the people enforceing them were corrupt, therefore the ethical course of action would have been to survive. Of course a 70 year old man's feelings towards existence most likely differ from a younger healther person, so it is understandable why he accepted the unjust sentence.

I would say I would most be like the first one. I don't get into a situation, and just say, "I'm not dealing with this, if its not my way, then too bad" I'm more, "Ok, things are changing, I'll just have to accept things, and make the better of my situation." Like I said, most likely I'll be like the first person. But sometimes things change. I understand what you are asking. Me, and my Dad would most likely be the first person. But my Mom, sister, and especially my half-brother are most like the latter person. If things aren't going their way, they complain until they get it. Even if I could change the situation. I won't. Just because I don't want to cause a commotion, or get one someone's nerves. I'm just the kind of person who is easily bent to someone's will. I don't like it, but I basically let people tell me what to do, with no complaint. There are boundaries to what I'll do though. I usually will just accept what I'm given, and try to make it work. I don't want to be that person, who always wants what they want, and won't change their mind to accommodate others. But sometimes I think I should be more like these people, because I do get pushed and bossed around. Tell me to clean something, put something away, or get you something, most likely it'll get done with no back talk or complaint. I guess I wrote a lot for your question.

I agree. Most people fall in the middle. In most situations I walk in with my head held high, deal with it, and move forward even stronger. But some situations scare the **** out of me, and I put on blinders and pretend it's not happening, until it's biting me in the *** and I have to make a change or drown.

I like your name. Is there a category named philosophy? Who has this second viewpoint, besides my ex-husband? You have to accept your circumstances and you have to accept responsibility for making them better. You can't just have the point of view that your life isn't good enough to do anything with; that would make you a victim of your circumstances.

I'm the sort of person that tries to look at my situation and determine what parts are good, and what parts are bad, and of the bad parts, figure out what I can change and what I can't. I'm very much a believer that I can make my situation better if I'm willing to put forth the effort.

I actually believe most people fall in the middle. It depends on the circumstances that is affecting their lives. At times we say we will change and at times we will accept it. Depends on the person and how strong they feel in their beliefs.

Hunanity adapts.......We all fall in between and consiously choose whether or not the above question relates to their situation...But ....depending on the person, me in particular, I will feel that something is not good enough and strive to make it better....So the answer depends on the person and would generally fall in between ..
