With the recent proclaimant, Barack Obama entering the assured multi-party Presidential election, I am researching all I can find about each candidate.
What slant does Mr. Obama intend to offer in his candidacy? I hear that he offers a Liberal perspective of his chosen party. What angle (either PRO-POLITICAL or PRO-ISSUE) should we expect through his tenure as United States President?

I would call him a moderate populist who says he represents all those who are tired of the normal partisan way of doing things.

Depends on which side of the aisle you reside on these days. If you in the middle, you'd probably like him for some things, dislike him for some things but respect his tone for change. If you're on the right, you will think he's a whacky libby like everyone on the right now thinks of Dems, and if you're on the left, you'll support everything he says, just because he disagrees with Bush. In my opinion, based on reading his books(the first one long before politics was really even a thought of his), he strikes me as a more decent man then the previous few we've had in office. I also find that although I disagree with him, I would enjoy a discussion with him on issues ranging across the spectrum and probably be better for it. Unfortunately, in this day and age, we strive for beat you over the head politics which is why I think he will struggle.

He is a conservative Democrat just like Sen. Clinton. There is no other kind of democrat anymore.
