those huge old porcelain walk and talk dolls that stood higher than the average 4 yr old - mortally afraid of them as a kid as siblings favourite past time was sending it walking, batting its eyes and crying "mamma" into my room at night when i was put to bed - hate dolls to this day now lol won't have them in the house.

Ventriliquist dolls, had the string at the back of the head to make the mouth move. Scared my little brother.
