I agree with Baby's Mom, it would be racist if only black people could attend and no other groups of people are allow to come, especially since it is a public event. But it depends on the type of gathering and event, however you should still invite anyone who is interested in coming even if they weren't African-American.

Let's think of it this way, if the there was a blacks only party, no one would think a big deal of it, because you know, its just the boys in the hood getting together without the crackers messing with their style. But, if you held a party, and you said that no blacks were allowed, well, i wouldnt want to imagine the uproar.
Think about it for a bit. Not inviting any one race to anything is completely utterly racist.

Are whites not allowed at all? Then yes. If it's simply a matter of a certain group getting together, and they all happen to be black, then no.
