Star question... some imagination!!

Let me attempt a philosophical answer. I think there would be a positive wave of goodwill across the planet.... living beings really enjoy doing the same thing together and their common enjoyment at the same moment would create the positive wave.

I hope you too would enjoy this 'out of box' answer for your STAR question!!

The short answer is nothing would happen affecting the planet.

People are spread out all over and their jumping directions would tend to have a balancing affect when taken together, but that's not the answer.

There would be no change on the planet or its place in the solar system, because all the people and the planet are part of closed system. Don't forget that the jumpers fall back to earth so that the total momentum and mass of the planet (including the jumpers) does not change.

If all the jumpers got close to the same place and jumped right out of the planet's gravitational control. Then there would be a small change in the planet's momentum and total mass.

Probably nothing. Might feel some vibration but that is with the people around you. The earth has too much mass to really feel the affects of everything on the world jumping at the same time.

It all depends on how high we jump and how much we weigh. If we all jump at the same time and at the same height and landed at the same time, then we might feel a little mumble or vibration of the Earth.

Half of them would find the earth coming up to meet them. The other half (on the other side of the earth) would find the earth rushing away from them, keeping them suspended in the air.
All of this depends of the physics laws of the universe not being suspended for insubordination.

ZILCH would happen.

the water of the earth is the largest 'liquid mass on the earth yet represents a very small percentage of earth total mass. thus, we are a very very small percent of earth's water mass. we would be like surface dust on a softball.

wow, where did this question come from? a coherent, sensible and intelligent question on philosophy. i am very sure that this belongs on another forum where there is true intelligence!

wikipedia:
The total mass of the hydrosphere is about 1.4 × 1021 kilograms, which is about 0.023% of the Earth's total mass.

Who knows! It's an interesting question, but should have been posted under Physics. They might be able to tell.
