Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question to you, but I have to ask. I just bought a new computer last night and it has this:
Network Interface: 10/100 Mbps built-in Ethernet, Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g
Do I need to get a wireless adapter too, or is that what that is?

I already ordered a wireless router. I ordered the
Linksys Wireless-G Router model WRT54GS
+ Complete with SpeedBooster.
Is that a good choice?

They are two different means of connecting to a network (such as the internet) If you want to go wireless you can get a wireless router, and you also have the option of using a wired connection (ethernet). Ethernet, looks like a big phone jack. If you want to play multi-player games use the ethernet adapter. What it means by 10/100 Mbps is it can connect at either a 10 Megabyte Per Second Connection or a 100 Megabyte Per Second Connection, the higher the number is the faster it is (to the router or between multiple computers) The speed of the internet depends on your connection from the ISPs computer to your DSL/CABLE modem. Wireless can only run at a top-speed of 54Mbps, which isn't that great for multiplayer. For a laptop, wireless is great for the fact you can have it 'about' where ever in the house you want it as long as it isn't to far from the router, most will get 300-400ft.

According to your information, you already have both the built-in network adapter (10/100 Mbps built-in Ethernet), and the wireless adapter (Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g).
You will need to pick up a wireless router if you want to connect to the internet. Try to get a Wireless G. I would recommend, Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router.

Linksys is a good company first of all and no you don't need a wireless adapter the the new computer has a built in one. Just connect your wireless router and search for a wireless network range click on your wireless connection.

No. All you need is an 801 a, b or g compatible router. The a, b, g are the different Wi-fi standards and your computer can connect to all of them. The G is the fastest and is the most secure (when security is activated on a router). Buy a G-router and you'll be ok. And make sure you secure your network or anyone with an adapter, and within range, will be able to use it.
Addtional edit: Yes that's a good router. Linksys makes some good routers and their customer service is excellent and free. They'll help you set it up and secure it. When it's set-up, don't lose your passwords or passphrases, as they call them.

What you will need is the NIC (Network Interface Card) which will connect to your cable or DSL modem. You do not need a wireless adapter if you are connecting direct into the modem. Now, if you have a laptop computer that you want to connect wirelessly with, yes then you will need a wireless adapter, but will also need the wireless router to send the signal to the adapter for the laptop or other computer.
Good luck.
