i'm curious about something. could u guys post yours child's weight, height, and age for me so i could compare

the reason i ask is because my son eats alot. and he's only 7 weeks old @ 23.3 inches tall and 14 lbs. on one hand it bothers me b/c i know he's too heavy for his age. and on the other hand it doesn't bother me b/c it just seems as if his weight is trying to keep up with his height. i've looked at charts and i do know that he is taller than most 8 week old babies and from looking at him he doesn't look as if he's already doubled his birth weight. his weight and height has him wearing 3/6M clothes already. opinions?

ps. his dad is 6'5" if that means anything

Don't worry. He might be in the 95 percentile for height and weight but it balances out. When I had my son at 38 weeks gestation, he was 8lbs 13 oz 21 ins at birth. At 8 weeks he was 14 lbs 3 oz and 23 ins long.
His dad's height is a factor. Familial genetics play a part and if there are other people in the family on either side who are tall, he might just a big guy naturally. Take my family for example. I am 5'9" and my husband is 6', My dad is 6'3" and my husband has an uncle who is 6'4"

There is absolutely nothing to worry about. The worry comes if he is in the 25th percentile or lower for height and weight

Every baby's height and weight are different. When my daughter was born she was 8 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches. By the time she was 2 months she was already 12 lbs. She is now 11 months old and 20 lbs and about 30 inches. She has always been in the 90th percentile for her height and weight. Some babies are just big babies. As long as he is healthy, I see nothing to be worried about.

How much did he weigh at birth? My son is 2 months. At his checkup he was 11lbs 11oz. and 23 inches long. At birth he was 6lbs. 1oz. and 19 in. I am sure that he has doubled his birth weight by now. His dad is 6'4". Every baby grows differently. It sounds like u have a very healthy baby. I thought that my son was growing rather rapidly as well. If u are concerned ask your pediatrician. I did. She told me that he is just well-grown and that is a good thing. Weight gain is important in the early days. As long as he is not losing weight,u don't have anything to worry about. Just be glad he wasn't born that size!

My childrens dad is 6'2'' and both of them are big. My 3 year old looks about 5. She doesn't talk like a 5 year old and people think it's strange when they don't know her real age. My baby is 28lbs and she's 7 months. She was wearing clothes for 12-18 months when she was 6 month old. She doesn't look really overweight, just older.

What you have my dear is a perfectly healthy baby. You have nothing to worry about. My daughter was that same weight at that age if not a tad bigger. Now she is a happy, healthy 3 year old who weighs 30 pounds and does not look big at all. She just liked to eat. Better than a child who is fussy about food.

Another factor to consider - is he formula fed or breastfed? Formula fed babies gain weight faster......as long as he is pooping and peeing and meeting developmental milestones you shouldn't worry too much.

he is fine. tall and full. it doesn't mean anything. babies grow and gain weight differently. if his doctor says he is fine then he is.
