Lately Ive been reading the classics. I just finished The Catcher in the Rye, WHICH I LOVED!!!! Im reading Catch 22 right now.....half way through IDK....its not really sparking my interest. Its good writing just, kind of boring. Ive read 1984 about a billion times! Ive read lots of Orwells books, Animal farm a lot of his short stories....Anyways I just wanted you to know what I like, and I was hoping that you could tell me about a book that you've read, that you liked, thats in the same category. Im really open to genres too, I read Go ask Alice a couple weeks back. What a trip! I loved that too. Anyways thanks guys.

I love the classics, too. Last year I read A Tale of Two Cities and couldn't put it down. Good writing is essential. A rather recent bookI thoroughly enjoyed was a literary thriller/horror novel called The Historian (the writer's name escapes me) but it explores the legond of the the real-life inspiration for Bram Stroker's Dracula. It moves back and forth in time, takes the reader all over the world, and is thoroughly frightening. It also gives the reader some very interesting perspectives on the history of the Ottoman Empire and Eastern Europe in general. It is now in paperback. The book would be fun to read along side Dracula, as well, and B&N always has nice hard cover editions of that really cheap. Happy reading.

Also when you finish those look for the new series "Fearless FBI" I just started it and it's great. (Theres a lot of books in the series but they are kind of short..dont worry) I cant stop reading them!

You might like John Steinbeck? Grapes of Wrath, Sweet Thursday. How about Sybil?
My favorite books have always been Stephen King's but his stuff can be so bizarre for others.
Right now I am reading a lot of "finding my purpose" books like "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. Sue Monk Kidd's books are really good, "The Mermaid Chair" and "The Secret Life of Bees"
Fannie Flagg's books are wonderful.
Hope you find other things you 'll like. There is so much out there. I think reading the classics is so great.

Quo Vadis,By Henryk Seinkeiwicz, winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, written 1896,deals with Rome during the first century AD,under the rule of Nero. Sounds stuffy, but this novel,in a new translation looks eerily like our world, where the Survivor reality reminds me of a precursor to gladiatorial battles. Get the paperback with the mosaic artwork cover.

I don't read much classics but if you want a really good recent book I would recommend either "The Last Juror or The Testement" by John Grisham. I loved them. The Last juror is about these 12 Jurors who are getting killed one by one and they are trying to find out whos doing it before all the jurors end up dead. The Testament is abut an old guy who writes a will and end up giving all his money to an illigitemate daughter when his other children think they are inheriting lots of money.

My favorite right now is Haruki Murakami. Definitely try to pick up a copy of "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World". Also, somewhat in the vein of those books, check out Jose Saramago's "All the Names".
If you have more time, check out their other books like "The Wind-up Bird Chronicle" and "Blindness".
