If you're using the condom correctly and taking the birth control correctly, then your chances are slim to none. But if the condom breaks and/or you forget to take your birth control, your chances are greatly increased. Not wanting anymore children right now, should be a great reminder to use birth control everytime.

Well if both are used correctly then you should be pretty good.. but alot of things could happen.. you might miss your pill, the condom can break, you need to follow the directions of taking the pill accurately... it says for most birth control pills you are suppose to take it at the same time everyday... for it to be accurate. Or you could wind up pregnant. I was taking the pill (not at the same time though.. i worked different shifts all the time) and my husband, then boyfriend, used a condom and i still ended up pregnant.. we know the condom didn't break b/c i always fill it with water afterwords to make sure.... so you still have that 1% chance of getting pregnant.. but it is better to use both as you are doing now... good job

The HIV virus can get through a condom, and sperm is considerably smaller than that, so yes - even with a condom you can get pregnant. If you just started birth control, it may not have had a chance to take effect. And I know more than one person who got pregnant while on birth control anyway. Yes, it does happen. Medications such as antibiotics can also interfere with BC's effectiveness.

I would use a condom, birth control and spermicide
I did this for seven years, and did not get pregnant
The only 100% way of not getting pregnant, is not having sex
The more forms of birth control, the better
Good luck

chances of getting pregnant while using condoms and birth control are very slim. i suggest if you're thinking about birth control, try implanon. it's a small rod implanted in your arm and lasts for 3 years and stops the ovaries from releasing the eggs. it's the best form on contraception because you don't have to remember to take pills everyday or get injections every few months. just get it implanted and you don't have to worry about anything for the next 3 years. can be removed at any time as well.

If you use them both correctly, you should be ok. What form of protection did you use before when you got pregnant?

also, I will tell you this - because i didnt know! that if you stop birth control or say forget for a couple days (in the beginning of a cycle), you will ovulate almost immediately. and your chances of multiples increases!!!! so with birthcontrol, it is almost like you are either very protected or very fertile!

If you are using both though, it would be very difficult to get pregnant.
