I need at least 8 gigs for reasonably little money.I have looked into ipods but I don't know if I want to get one. I was wondering about other brands. What kind of MP3 player do you have and what are the pros and cons?

I have a Creative and don't really want another one. I didn't care for it.

I had an ipod, a Zune, and played with a Sansa e280 many times. I have a Zune right now and I love it due to its big screen. Its pro is its big screen, customizable backround, and interface. The cons are few features (like clock) & and its just a bit chunky for some people (not me).
I had an iPod 30g but sold it for a Zune. The pros is its many small features, access to big marketplace, scroll wheel, accessories, and popularity. The cons are the small screen and its really easy to scratch.
My friend had a Sansa and I played with it a lot. The pros are its size (small), its features, its expandable memory, and its video capability (for such a small player). Its cons are crappy ipod wannabe scroll wheel, thickness, and small screen.

CD gamers i'm not waiting for an ipod or mp3 participant yet... possibly even as i'm 40 in the experience that they don't seem old by technique of then (i'm 29). I surely have had my digicam for 3 years and there remains likely a collection of stuff i do not comprehend a thanks to do with it yet. Texting, making telephone calls, and taking images is especially a lot all i visit do with my cellular telephone. i do not prefer to flow via all the hassle of downloading songs in basic terms to take heed to them anytime everywhere devoid of the skipping or scratching.

Get an iPod they seem a little expensive but I think it would be better to spend big amount of money on something that's going to last a long time then to get a cheap peice of junk that you'll have to replace a trillion times
PRO'S:
it holds alot of music
you can load alot of cool stuff on it
you can conect it to an iHome and wake up to your fav song every morning
CONS:
NONE

I recommend the Sansa e280:

I have and love the 4 gig version of it; it has been absolutely perfect. It plays mp3, wma, video, pics, has voice recording, and has FM radio and recording. It's got way more features than an iPod and costs less too!

I've found Creative mp3 players to be very good.
Sturdy, reliable, funky, and...basically not an ipod! Check them out.
