Yes, I would. That is terrible. She should not be allowed to get away with that. That is assault at the very least. Maybe even manslaughter. (on the unborn baby) You are very young , but that dont mean you didnt love your baby. I am so sorry. God Bless.

You would need of course to have had DNA testing of the miscarried fetus to determine that your boyfriend was the father. This is very expensive and would need to be done after you hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit. You would also want to consider if the boyfriend or the new girlfriend has any money or other assets. Even if you get a civil judgment against the girlfriend, if she is also 14 and not independently wealthy then what are you possibly going to gain by suing her? Additionally, if she punished you in the stomach 14 days ago but the doctor just told you yesterday that you miscarried it will be impossible to prove that the punishment caused the miscarriage. Many other factors cause miscarriage.

wow Im sorry that happened to you. I would have your parents file a complaint. This girl or her parents could be liable to pay for any doctors costs and more to compensate for your loss..

I wish you luck.

p.s. Please next time be more careful. make sure the man that you have a baby with wants a baby too, and he wants to be with you. :)

- I do want to add, I just read it again - and I doubt her punch made you miscarry 2 weeks later. normally you would miscarry within a few hours of something like that. I am very sorry though.

I am not sure you can sue, but you can file charges against her. Battery offense. But you will have to prove you were pregnant.
At 14 I am not sure if you could afford a lawyer and all the court cost.

If you can prove that caused you to miscarry, go for it, but I seriously don't like your chances. She did hit you though, at least go to the cops and get her put up on assult charges.

Well you definately need to file charges against her for assault. Did you tell your doctor what happened? He may be able to testify that her striking you if what attributed to the miscarry. I would not let this go, you need to take action of some sort.

Your doctor will be called to the stand and he will be required to verify that you were actually pregnant AND that the miscarriage was as a result of the assault.

Miscarriages are rarely caused by a punch to the abdomen.

Oh schnap, don't stand for someone fighting you, like not joking, go find a gangster to go beat her up, i'm guessing you used the word punished instead of punch on purpose? If you live in the greater seattle area I may know someone who'll get you some payback

you could file charges...... but you are not going to get any money
also, I am sorry about the baby, but I'm glad that you are not going to have to be a mother @ 14! Especially by a loser like that ...you deserve much better than this!

What will you sue her for? If you want her charged with assault that's one thing, but you can't "sue" her for pushing you.
At your age, the likelihood of miscarriage is high without any interference. It would be impossible to prove that her "shove" caused you to miscarry.
BTW, your boyfriend didn't get you pregnant....you both got you pregnant. Please, if you're going to have sex, use protection. I assume you've had tests for STD, including HIV. You have one life...take care of it and be responsible.
