im doing a prodject i need to know this

I would think this would vary with temperature - warmer water holds less oxygen, so the fish would have to respire faster to get the same amount of oxygen.

How about determining this yourself? If you have multiple bettas, measure the number of times they move their gills in one minute and take the average. You could vary their temperature using a space heater or opening/closing heat/air conditioning vent in the room. Put a thermometer in a bowl of water like the bettas are in so you don't disturb them to take a temperature reading. Then you can make a graph of how their respiration changes according to the temperature.
