Yuck! None. This might sound kinda lame, but if you get mid tops or hi-tops you can wear the cotton 'footies' for men. There's lots of them out there and you can't see them, at all, if your shoe top is higher. It'll keep your feet and shoes from smelling like a goat. A great way to get rid of the smell, though, is sprinkle baking soda in your shoes. Really!

Running shoes are the best sneakers to be worn sockless. The sneakers are made of mesh uppers designed to get wet and dry quickly. Most insoles are made with an anti-microbial insoles, which helps keep the odor for happening. Many runners wear their running shoes sockless and in my store a good percent of my customers try on their shoes sockless. All technical brands, brooks, mizuno, asics, saucony, new balance and nike design their sneakers to be worn sockless. The sneaker that fits your foot the best is the best sneaker to wear sockless. Comming from a sneaker store owner, your sneakers will not stink if you just treat your insoles like a pair of socks. Wash them after ever or every other wearing. Sneakers without socks tend to get very smelly quickly as the sweat from your feet just soaks into them as sneakers are hot to wear!
The best idea is to wear trainer socks with them. They are small and low so cant be seen when you are wearing the sneaker but still acts as a sock to soak up the sweat etc.

Well in the Winter Time Puma sneakers are the best to wear without socks, they feel very good on your feet, they keep your feet warm even if it is cold out side, and they even will keep the snow out if(These sneakers have no ventilation) you have them tied tight enough. I have 3 pairs myself and I wear them without socks all the time..They have arch support, and they do not hurt your feet, In the summer time the best sneakers to wear without socks are New Balance Sneakers. Your feet will breathe better if they have the proper ventilation. The only drawback about wearing sneakers without socks is your feet and sneakers are going to stink very bad, so I recommend using deodorant to put on your feet (Not the anti-prespirant) before you put them on. This wil help get rid of the odor.

low top converse chuck taylors - and for all the naysayers - add just a bit of medicated powder everyday before you wear them and they will never stink (if you keep up with the powder)
