Unhealthy activities can make it more difficult for you to get and to keep a job, any job.

But generally, this is the other way around. Your financial status is very much ties to your health because it's tied; to your ability to access preventive health care and early diagnosis and management/treatment of problems.

Lets do the math here for a moment. 1 pack of cigs a day $4.50 name brand in most states. that's $139.50 a month and $1674.00 a year.

Drinking, A 12 pack of beer is what $8.00 for a reasonable brand and I'm sure most beer buddies pop buy and that triples so lets say 3 twelve packs a week. That's $24.00. A year that's $1248.00. and that don't even come close if your a hard drinks drinker or mixed drinks.

OK last issue you didn't mention, Food. Good healthy food is 3 times more expensive than cheap foods like ramen noodles, mac and cheese, hot dogs, bologna sandwiches. A healthy conscious eater will spend around $50.00 a week. that translates to 2 bills a month and $2600.00 a year.

I hope that helped a little. Lets just say if you didn't smoke, drink that there is a 3k a year savings I'm sure your savings bank account and or 401k would much more appreciate.
