There is a utility called Disk Cleanup on all Windows PCs which will remove temporary files from everywhere including IE.
Start / Program / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Cleanup
or for just Temporary Internet Files
Start / Settings / Control Panel / Internet
On IE6 select Settings then Delete Temporary Internet Files
On IE7 select Delete then Delete Files at the top
Deleting Cookies is a drastic measure and should not be undertaken lightly. Your better off using something like
LavaSoft Adaware to remove dubious cookies.

Your browser should provide an option to delete cookies and internet history (if IE then do tools, internet options & delete cookies & internet history), additionally it is possible to navigate to your internet explorer files through c:\windows\temp and then go into the cookies & history files and delete the contents - (leave the folders for safety sake), FYI windows still keeps a hidden history of every webpage ever visited in index.dat - erasing that requires a special method too detailed to explain here.

Have you been looking at naughty pictures? If you download and install Spybot S+D (its a spyware killer) from www.download.com it gives you an option to delete temp internet files and cookies. Its a dead useful program too. Alternatively, dig around in your C drive, they'll be in there somewhere in a folder called 'Temporary Internet Files' surprisingly. Probably in administrator/documents and settings/ or something like that

Right click on Internet Explorer on the desktop and go to Properties.
Everything you want to do is under the "General" tab.
Alternatively, you can go to the tools menu, and choose Internet Options, as it's the same thing.
