why won't my computer access ebay.com?

I can access all other sites except e-bay.When i click on the ebay from search it has a page that says unable to connect

I don't know how a child in secondary school manages if they do not have a computer at home! Some of my daughter's homework cannot be done without access to a computer. They can use school computers at lunchtime or after school but then they do not get time to eat or have a break - which they need and anyway, other kids are on them playing games etc. and the younger kids (ys 7 &8)dont get a look in! When my computer was out of action for a few days, I ended up having to go up to the school to explain the problem. There suggestion - stay late after school - in a rural area which is fairly seculuded after 4pm and I don't drive! That was not suitable so special arrangements had to be made for her to have access to a computer. This is madness. It also worries me that I am having to teach her how to use a book to find information quickly. Most of her class do not even know what an index is for! These kids are going to leave school with great A. Levels and be in for a shock at university when they have to be able to use books for their studies!!

Is this recent. I think there was some DNS issue, I can't ping www.ebay.com right now, but I just went to the page. IP 68.135.208.90 is showing "page not responding".
