yea i just got a corn snake and its a baby, about 1-2 months old, and i was wondering if a 20 gallon tank would be too big for it, i have 4 hides in it, which include a log bought from the pet store(its hollow,) a pot that usually holds plants with a hole in it, a coconut shell, and a corner with bendable branches with fake leaves on it, is this enough hides and will my corn get stressed? thanks allot.

Nothing can be too big for it.
If it has a place to hide.
Out in the wild they aren't
living in a box.
It can live in a twenty gallon
for it's whole life. Unless
you plan to breed. Then
it will need at least 30 gal.

As far as I know, it won't get stressed by having a habitat that's too big. As long as there are plenty of places for it to feel safe and secure, it should be fine. Check the web; I believe I've seen some sites specifically for corn snake care and information.
Good luck!

well you shouldn't have so many hides first off the snake may wnt to hide and not eat. If you are planning to feed the snake in another tank than this is fine and I would suggest feeding it in another tank probably a ten gallon.

No to be honest you actually got the right size any smaller he would not been able to get proper exercise and his mucsles wold not develop properly.......so you did the right thing when he gets older move to a 40 and he can live the rest of his life in there i hope you have heat and basking sources like....heat rocks and lamps or he wont be able to heat properly and feed him "pinkies" for now. but he should be alright as long as you take proper care of them.

That should be fine for him. As far as a heat source, use heat lamps or undertank heaters. Do NOT use heat rocks, they can burn the snake easily. My larger snake has a heat lamp and my smaller ball has a heating pad under his tank.
