My laptop will not pick up the wireless at my house. It shows that it has the signal and our desktop is working, but when I connect (or better yet try to) It says "Not Connected"!!! This is so frustrating!!! My computer has done this before, but I forgot how I fixed it last time, Please Help! Thanks!!

I have tried the first one, and to the 2nd poster, yes, but my computer knows the code. I was hoping it would let me retype it in but when ever I click connect it goes right on with out asking

If you're using prop. software to connect wirelessly then you can only use the software. Turn off the option to connect to a wireless router with Windows OS.

Network Connections>Right Click Properties

Open Control Panel > Network Connections > Right-Click on the wireless connection and choose Properties. Go to the Wireless Networks Tab

From here you can choose the connection and review the properties to make sure they match your router settings.

Also, is your wireless signal encrypted? The encryption code on your laptop wireless connection must match the one being sent by the wireless router.

right click on the icon in the corner and view available wireless networks and see if you can see your network and then connect to it.
