I have used it with all 3 of my children. If your baby is fussy or appears to be uncomfortable, by all means, use it and make him/her feel better. It's perfectly okay.

I used baby orajel with my first and using it with my 2nd baby now and I like it. It's enough of a numbing aide to take away the pain and is a good distraction for my baby so he's immediately happy and back to normal after I put just a small amount.

If you're concerned, ask your doctor. It shouldn't be a problem, though. BTW, I found that the Q-tip-style Orajel applicators were a lot easier (and much more sanitary) to use than rubbing it on with your finger with Orajel from a tube.

Baby orajel is perfectly save to apply to your child's gums. You can also use a cooled teething ring.

That is what Baby Orajel is for. I wouldn't put it on a teething baby that is doing okay with the teething... but only when they are fussy.

If you want to go homeopathic go to Target or Walmart and ask for the "Teething Tablet" made by Hylands
http://www.hylands.com/products/teething.php
Here is thier website.
I have two girls and both of them have used them. These work so much better than orajel.

It's fine, just be careful. But I only found that it worked for like 10 minutes. Baby Motrin works well to help reduce the pain for them. Hylands Teething Tablets are also helpful.

I wouldn't use it because it can burn them. Cold things are better for them to gnaw on - keep a wet washcloth in the fridge in a baggie for them to chew on, or those plastic teething rings, or even a frozen bagel in a pinch. I would give either Tylenol or Motrin for pain as well - especially 30 minutes before feedings or bedtime.

It will make thier whole mouth numb, so keep that in mind before you use it. I only use it on mine when she is very cranky and/or needs to sleep. She is 10 months old and we just opened the 2nd tube. that is how little we use it.
