If they got people that knew what they were talking about, they'd probably tell the truth about most of the crap they come up with.

They have one person who is "everyman" to represent what the viewer would probably think of it if he/she ate the food. I agree it's not a valid way of crowning someone a world-class chef. They should all be leaders in the culinary field.

Because people generally hate critics so they'd rather have opinionated amateurs rather than people who really know their stuff, kind of like the rest of the BS that is on TV now.

Some of the judges are professional food critics, but I agreee, not all of them are.
