in Polls and Surveys and everyone else is *yawn* not that likely to answer in other categories? Is it cuz opinions are more prevalent than people that actually can answer questions?

usually I stay here and ask this more simple social questions but once I adventured in to other category's and I was so lost like there's this complicated science questions or maths questions or questions for a doctor really so I'm gonna stick to this type of questions because I'm no doctor or math teacher

Probaly because 50% of users are right here, and the other 50% is spread out over yahoo

you get responses in polls and surveys because people don't have to think up intelligent answers like they would say in singles and dating
