I am not gay, and do not have any gay friends (to my knowledge). Why are people so upset about this though? How does a gay person's marriage affect your life?

Lady Hewit, I'm glad you THINK you are not a gay basher. Wow.

Lots of you So-Called Christians should remember to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR. Just because you go to church doesn't make you holy.

I am in total agreeance with you- nothing makes me more upset than people who are rude and rutheless to gays. No one I know is gay, but I still have the same opinion: If you say that the reason you are anti-gay is because "you're a Christian, and it never says in the Bible that two men are supposed to make offspring ( or two women )-" then you're incorrect. Because it does inexplicitly say that you should live in the pursuit of happiness, and that you shalt not judge fellow man- I do not go to church- I am a child and without a licesnse- but I still believe in God and have faith. And I think that people should just LIVE. Do what makes you happy, and leave other people's business up to them, unless you're going to help them in a impersonally positive way. Gay and Lesbian Relationships are all around us- they are becoming a part of life- so World- DEAL WITH IT.

I get so angry about this subject. The argument about procreation? Well, there are people who cannot have children and people who choose to not have children. I guess they can't get married, right? And if marriage is a religious institution, then why are athiests allowed to marry?

Then there's the "choose to be gay" line. If someone is truly straight, would they choose to be gay? Why in the hell would someone want to do that? You're attracted to who you're attracted to. The point about "what's next" - marrying children, animals, dead people, etc...give me a break! What consenting adult humans do IS NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS!

Bringing religion into it is ridiculous. I don't believe what these fanatics do. There are so many different beliefs in this country. Laws in the United States should not be based on religion.

I'm straight, by the way. I just happen to have an open mind. If I had to label myself, I guess I would say I'm an athiest. And guess what? I'm a good person. Can you imagine??

Well I am not gay either but I do believe that people should have equal rights and opportunities. If our Constitution was truly founded so that people could have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness then there shouldn't be a problem. What bothers me is that all these holy rollers need to use their moral agendas to try to decide the rights of others...It honestly doesn't affect my life but some day one of my children could turn out to be gay and I'd like to think by then they will be able to live their life the way they choose to with all of the same privledges as heterosexuals....

I have no idea. If gay people want to risk losing half their property, then I am not going to stop them.

I don't see how it's going to make their lives any easier, however. It hasn't exactly been working out well for us heterosexuals in this post-industrial reality.

Because it affects our culture and how our kids grow up and i dont want my kids growing up in a culture that okays gay marriages and so they think it is okay and normal to do this. The Bible is clear that it is not normal and that it is sodomy and sinful and immoral. That is why he destroyed Sodom and Gammorah in the Bible so it is just wrong! It is also wrong however to be bisexual and even the straight married people who cheat and have affairs on each other and swing and things like that are just as sinful and wrong and immoral as the gays and lesbians. There is not one sin worse then any other in God's eyes. I get worked up over all of this and even over abortion too. SIn affects alot of peoples lives someway and in a negative way. However i am not a gay basher or anything like that . I just cannot condone the sin of it since I am a Christian and it goes against my ethnic beliefs however it is their choice what they want to do with their lives and who they want to be with. I have some friends that are gay too and also other people who do not live a moral lifestyle but they know where i stand with things and they respect me for my beliefs just like i respect them for theirs. Nuff said now i am done lol.

Are you kidding ? There is no such thing as gay marriage ?

I know a few people that are so called gay. I am not.

The ones I do know at the beauty shop and such are very nice.

I think some legal rights might be in order, but don't call it a marriage.

Marriage is between 2 people of the opposite sex.

i say live and let live. They don't bother me at all. Besides, they need to have health coverage for the partner and all that...why do straight people deserve that more than gay people?

It does nt affect my life, it affects theirs, woman was created to be with man, it's a sickness, an alcoholic, drug attic etc. they are all sicknesses.....if people would rely on God instead of humans, they would have awesome lives, full of love and joy.....Jesus loves everyone and wants them to seek Him....He is not complicated, all He wants is our hearts....He is love
