I am looking for a nice not so expensive hotel that has easy access to the undergroung or subway station. It must be in a descent area.

Hmmm .... well have a look through the list below. Most provide directions and info on accessability to the underground stations - although everything downtown is fairly close.
The Baross Hotel is located just one minute’s walk from the following bus stops and underground train station: M2 (red line) Keleti pu. Trolley bus #73 and #76 terminal in Bethlen Gábor street, Bus stop #7, 7A, 78, 73, 173 at Keleti pu.
