I've had bumps and lumps before. The first whenI was 20, and I'm 27 now and lump free. I went to the doctor about it. It is normal in most people to get a lumpy tissue formation once in a while, it will most likely be ignored by the doctor, but checking with one wouldn't hurt (unless you have to pay tons of cash in a private healthcare system, where they may proceed with biopsy even though it isn't needed - they want your money, and are good at convincing you to get uneeded and costly treatments). Since he is only 22, there is now reason to worry about such a minor lump, unless it is causing HIM pain.

He definitely needs to see the Dr. It is a fact that breast cancer can appear in some men.
Although it could be something as simple as a cyst or a benign Tumor. BUT IT IS IMPORTANT HE GO TO THE DR. TO HAVE IT CHECKED. Pain, itching or growing do not necessarily mean anything.
Good Luck.

It could be something serious. He needs to have it assessed, regardless of age, by a doctor as soon as possible.

It could very well be breast cancer. it may be rarer in men than in women but it can happen. If I were you I would persuade him to see a physician.
