because love isn't always happy If we didn't feel sorrow in our live then we would not appreciate how joy feels.

The Greeks were the first to realize the power that music had over emotions, and they made the the 7 modes. Aristotle discribed it as "The musical modes differ essentially from one another, and those who hear them are differently affected by each. Some of them make men sad and grave, like the so called Mixolydian; others enfeeble the mind, like the relaxed modes; another, again, produces a moderate or settled temper, which appears to be the peculiar effect of the Dorian; and the Phrygian inspires enthusiasm."
Basically, different scales make you feel differently. If those songs make you feel a certain way, it is because of the scale they were written with.

Hope this helped. Try and learn some music theory if this is interesting to you.

Do you truely understand nothing about music? And I ain't talking about no rap ****.

Real music is about expression, and passion and emotion. If the musician is sad, and he wrties a song, the song is forever sad, and beyond hope of changing. But that doesn't demean it's value, and is yet able to represent another side to a band that you may not have seen before.

My favorite song is The End because it's sad. It's a true expression of fear of death and hiding that fear from the world. After Morrison wrote it he tried to make it about a girl, but failed. When he started on Acid he tried to make it about an old greek myth, but failed.

The art refused to change itself because it was strong, and Morrison released it on the world and now it's a great song.

SO in conclusion young grasshopper, for a song to be great art it must be true and in accord with the artist. If the artist is sad, the song must be sad.

But it can still be great.

Because your mind finds ways to relate to them like a TV show would make you sad, by relating to the main character.

They put their true feelings and emotions into the song. That's what makes them good. The listener feels something.
