What I meant to ask was...Does 'natural selection' mean that I select a partner OR the partner selects me?

Whoa.....this sounds like science class. We choose one another because of the shared feelings we receive. We don't really select in a scientific sense-that was the way of the past with arranged marriages and royalty.

When you decide you want a dog or cat, you go to the pet store....and you tell me- who 'selects' who? Naturally, you 'select' the one that responds to your love and warmth.
