We're going to wipe ourselves out - make ourselves extinct and the planet is going to carry on. We've got no chance for evolution because we won't be suited to the harsh conditions which our planet will have. But other species will have no problems with harsh conditions - they are the ones that survive no matter what we throw at them.... so its gonna be cockroach planet in the future! the scary thing would be if they evolved brains as developed as ours and had like a natural history museum with skeletons of the extinct humans in them!!

As a species we are gradually overcoming evolution through skill. we are shortcutting evolution also. we live in inhosbitable places in the world, and many survive who would not normally.
The real battle is whether man can become skilled enough to totally remove evolution from the equation.
plus the Dinosaurs didnt have Big Macs.

we are only animals. so yeah... we are part of another chapter. in the future, we will opt to depend on our tech. or nature. it probably going to be technology. we can exist unless of curption, introduction of a new specie that will kill us, or a meteor/comet colliding into our planet. or the sun blows up (eventually after many trillions of years). perhaps there's will be another type of animal (birds evoluted from reptiles). who knows?

The insects get their turn next if we crap out.
Or maybe the arachnids.
If we survive whats happening to the planet we will have evolved into slightly different beings.

Yes, the planet is constantly changing. The animals(humans included) evolve as conditions change. It is the survival of the fittest, if you don't change or adapt you will not survive.

Beware the day when the Octopods awake from their cocoon city under the ocean and reclaim the land that was theirs 600,000,000 years ago.

No, we have been here from the beginning - as have dinosaurs incidently.
There is much evidence that man has lived with dinosaurs - many depictions, for example, by people who presumably saw them.

They've even found dino bones with blood cells - hardly 65 million years old!
