In a long-term relationship... We split the cooking duties... but when it is my turn, I make sure dinner is ready (even after I've put in my own 12 hour day) when he gets home.... I love to make a delicious dinner that makes him feel happy and full!!! The way to a man's heart is a good hearty meal!!!!! AND I do the dishes while he gets complete and full charge of the remote. Why? Cuz he does it for me on his cooking days!!!

When my husband and I lived together whomever got home first generally cooked dinner. We would pick dinner up or go out to eat a few times each month if we didn't feel like cooking (or didn't have time or hadn't been to the market yet).
We were both very good cooks and liked each others cooking. I didn't care to eat out all the time and didn't want our son exposed to constant fast food (not too mention the expense). The nice thing was that neither of us considered it the other's 'job' to do the cooking. The only thing we ever had an issue with was neither of us ever wanted to decide what to cook. He always wanted me to tell him what to make (I did the same thing to him - after making decisions all day at work it was sometimes just too much to decide on dinner, too).

I wasn't married but in a long term relationship for several years. If my partner was working his butt off at work I always made sure he had a good meal on the table, if I wasn't feeling good that day, I did something really simple but nutricous. Or if you are both willing once a week, it was a nice treat to order a pizza or go out or enjoy some take out at home, everyone needs a break and once a week is a good start, it doesn't always have to be a big elagorate meal, an oven dinner or whatever, take care Heather

Yes, I'm married and the mother of three. I cook four days a week and my husband cook on Sundays. The others are sandwiches, fast food, or left overs.

I'm married and cook several nights a week. My husband also cooks. He'd cook more often, but he uses too much spice for my taste. The other nights we eat out or order in.

Yes. No.

15 years of happy wedded bliss, maybe cooking 4 out of 7 days a week on average.
