If you are close friends with either of them you would not be asking this question,. You would know because they would tell you. What you should be asking yourself is why don't you have the nerve to ask an honest question of your close friends? Or better yet, why would they keep something personal from you if they trusted you to be honest, open and ok with their choice of lifestyle.

If I was interested in knowing something like that, I would just ask, but to do that you-must be well enough acquainted to have any business knowing, if you are a casual acquaintance, then you should honor their privacy, if you are interested in one or both of them, ask on that subject, honestly, sort of like, I was thinking i might want to explore any poss ability of becoming better acquainted with you, would that be something that is poss able? If the answer is no, and no reason is given, as far as you can go with it, but if she tells you why, be it she sees no future with you, or you are the wrong gender, well thats her decision to expand on the subject, unless you are just wondering about them, and then the answer is you don`t need to be able to tell, if they are or not, it won`t matter.

Me and my roommate are really close... people ask us if we're lesbians but we really aren't, we're just that close and that comfortable with eachother and we both have boyfriends. Plus it's none of your business, if they really wanted you to know if they were lesbian or not they would tell you.

Since you don't wish to ask and they aren't willing to tell you, the subject is really none of your business.

If you are their true friend, then your friendship with them is not about Lesbianism.

let them tell you, when they are ready (if they are indeed lesbians) they will tell you. Perhaps broach the subject indirectly (comment on gay current affairs) & see what their reaction is? Just dont put them on the spot. There is nothing worse than being forced to lie!

Just ask them. Believe it or not, women share deep love and don't beat each other off! They are just friends. I've known several such women in my life. It's called friendship and love.

IF YOU ARE STRICKLY OBSERVING AND WANT TO MAKE AN ASSUMPTION WITH OUT ASKING THEM,THEN YOU CAN TELL HOW THEY INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER. ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN YOU CAN TELL IF THERE IS SOME TYPE OF CHEMISTRY. ALOT OF TIME SPENT TOGETHER,PHONE CALLS,MAYBE JUST SOMETHING IN THE WAY THEY LOOK AT ONE ANOTHER.YOU CAN NEVER BE 100 PERCENT SURE UNLESS YOU ASK THEM...

I would be asking myself "why do I want to know?"

It is truly none of your business. If they are and they want you to know then they will tell you. The only other exception would be if one of them has hit on you and you are trying to establish if they are single or not....

If they're kissing, making out, hugging a lot, sitting in each others lap, holding hands, playing with each other hair ( And I don't mean puting each others hair up I mean running their fingers through it) giving each other secret looks, spending the night with each other a lot. { I mean like every other day or every weekend.}

Are they quite affectionate towards one another? Do they always put the needs of each other before their own? If so then maybe.
