Why does it seem that people of wealth care more about "the children" of other countries. I read questions here from people like Tea Leoni and Clay Akin wanting us to help the children of Africa and other countries. Personally I have no problem with helping other people or people that are in other countries, but it seems that nobody cries out for the children that are impoverished here in the United States. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've just read answers her on this site where Americans were boasting about how rich and financially stable your country is so why would you help a child who is sheltered and clothed instead of a child that hardly has a meal a day. in rich countries you've got orphanages, benefits and that kind of stuff whereas in Africa nothing like that exists. some of the children in developed counties are fortunate enough to be fostered or adopted nothing like this exits in Africa. most of the children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Africa are child headed in developed countries this is very rare now you tell me if you lived in Africa how would you feel if people from rich countries such as the US turned a blind eye and deaf ear on you suffering helping the children in their countries?

Very good question, exactly my thinking as well. We have MANY kids here in the United States that could use a helping hand. Helping is GREAT.....it is....but let's help our own as well.....

Why not ask the Republicans who historically cut social programs for the poor because they think they are all shiftless cheaters and that being poor is somehow their own fault.
